Q1. What are the system requirements to install and run XLAnalyst Standard?
A. Any Windows version of Excel from 2000 onwards.
XLAnalyst Standard will run if your system runs Excel . XLAnalyst Standard integrates tightly with Excel, adding a new menu and toolbar, and uses worksheets to store and present all information. This was a specific design goal to enable users to leverage their existing Excel knowledge to work with XLAnalyst Standard outputs in their own ways.
About 1Mb of hard drive space is required to install XLAnalyst Standard. If this is not available, then analysing spreadsheets is likely to be the least of your worries!
XLAnalyst Standard has been tested on the following configurations:
- Windows XP Professional (SP2) - Excel 2000, Excel 2002 (XP), Excel 2003(SP2)
- Windows 2000 Professional (SP4) - Excel 2000, Excel 2002 (XP), Excel 2003(SP2)

Q2. I already have XLAnalyst Free/Research why should I bother paying to upgrade to the Standard version?
A. Several reasons:
- The full list of unique formulas is the single most efficient way to review all the formulas in a model.
- The standard version comes with 12 months free updates and commercial grade support.
- Registered users of the Standard version will get discounts on other XLAnalyst products
- You have found the free version useful and would like to contribute to continued development and support.
- You are related to one of the developers.

Q3. How do I install XLAnalyst Standard?
A. Just download the files and double click the XLAnalystnnn.xla.
When prompted enter your email address and the passcode that was sent to it. You will get a message box saying install was successful. You do not need to be an administrator to install XLAnalyst Standard, you will however need a limited user, or guest permission set.

Q4. How do I uninstall XLAnalyst Standard?
A. Simply delete all the XLAnalyst files.

Q5. Is there a trial of XLAnalyst Standard?
A. XLAnalyst free is the freeware version of XLAnalyst.
The Standard version which adds several important additional features is only available to purchase. Using the free version should give a clear indication of whether XLAnalyst Standard with its additional features will meet your needs.

Q6. I am having problems with XLAnalyst Standard install or use.
A. Please visit the support pages here to see if your problem is a known issue and if a simple fix is available.
If that does not solve your issue please email support with a clear description of your problem including the Windows version, the Excel version. You should expect a human response within 24hrs, and usually the same business day.

Q7. What's a Digital Certificate and what does the warning message mean?
A. A Digital Certificate is a piece of code that is inserted into a product to prove where it came from.
Only Certificates from a recognised authority such as Comodo, Thawte or Verisign should be accepted.
All Codematic products are signed with our certificate, if you find one that isn't , DO NOT RUN IT, please send it straight to us, it may have been modified by a malicious hacker. If you are still not sure, contact your System Administrators for advice.

Q8. What Technology is XLAnalyst Standard based on?
A. XLAnalyst Standard is written in VBA and distributed as an add-in).
VBA is tightly integrated with Excel and enables direct access to the full power of Excel. No technology is 100% reliable, and having reviewed the options and issues we felt VBA was best for XLAnalyst Standard.
